Some highlights for me: "How do you taste?" - Eric goes CHOMP "IT'S A FREAKIN BUTTON" your face throughout the entire theater performance X"D "OH NO. OH NO NO NO NO. THEY'RE GONNA- OH NO" (about the scene where they ask her to sew the buttons XD Also - fun things! In the scene of the first dinner in the Other Mother's world (right around where they give her the cake), you can see portraits of the three missing children on the wall! Additionally - the garden in the Other World looks like Coraline, but if you pause at the zoom out at the very end of the movie, you'll see the garden in the real world actually looks like the Other Mother. And finally - highly recommend reading the book! It's even creepier than the movie and there are many even more interesting tidbits in it. Like the fact the tunnel to the Other World is by far more scary than even the Other Mother herself ;)

2022-01-20 22:29:44 +0000 UTCI think the implication is that Coraline's family just was at a bad spot at the moment. They briefly mentioned an accident at one point and it's heavily implied the mom was in a car accident, which is why she's wearing a neck brace.

2022-01-20 17:55:10 +0000 UTCMy mom took me to see this when I was a kid and I remember asking her can we leave because of the intro scene it scared the crap out of me LOL.She was like you begged me to see this movie and I paid for it we're staying, I am glad we did. this movie and paranorman scared a lot of kids, I remember the screaming in the theater from terrified kids haha. Now as an adult one of my favorite stop motion movies

This movie got me through being a single mom to a toddler who refused to sleep (seriously, the kid should be studied) but who was VERY soothed by this movie. Around the "Mouse Circus" section, he'd finally, blissfully, nod off and I'd get to enjoy the rest myself before falling asleep too. :D
