For me I feel like Nate only said it was "homophobic" because it's a defense mechanism. Like that's the only thing he could /say/. The intention of the piece is far from homophobic of course, and to some extent Nate probably knows that as well as everybody else, but that's how I interpreted Nate's reaction and internal struggle.

2022-02-28 04:45:25 +0000 UTCI mean, I feel like suggesting that Nate isn't queer in some way is incorrect. He very clearly is attracted to Jules. And like the show has made very clear in previous interactions between Jules and other "straight" men who approach her, it's never that cut and dry.

2022-02-21 20:47:23 +0000 UTCSorry but when they tried to make Cass and Lexi look like kids that was hilarious they dressed them up like toddlers LMAO. Zendaya was a bit better with the braids. The dress code at this High School.... when I was in HS we had to wear a uniform in Middle I remember getting in trouble and having to change my clothes because the upper part of my shirt was transparent. No way they would be allowed to wear this in real life, but the outfits are super cute in this show I'll give them that. My school did Heather's as a play and they had to censor half of it, it truly is an alternative universe where Lexi's play would be presented to a bunch of teenagers. I enjoyed seeing Lexi and Cass mom though she was having the time of her life. Also glad Ethan got more screen time away from Kat. That be to continue OMG. Side note I am not sure her name but the girl with the high pitched voiced that helped Lexi I hope she gets a story line I like her from what I've seen so far.

2022-02-21 20:47:19 +0000 UTCI don't think Nate is gay or bi because, like you said, he has never shown interest in guys. I think so much of what is going on with him is from trauma caused by his dad. He doesn't want to be like him and wants to try to prove that. I think that's also why he clings to hyper-feminine people. It's not because he is gay but because he is traumatized by his father and is scared of being like him. Also I can see how seeing your classmate being subject to his father would also increase that anxiety. Like before it was all on videos with strangers, but now it is someone he directly knows and takes a liking to.
