it's a common military tactic to use your enemy against another enemy. And in this, James feels he has complete control over Watts. He feels confident that he is a greater force than him. The win in their fight gave him a confidence boost that Watts isn't able to outdo him. Which is foolish. But I think Ironwood was hoping to not only get Watts to help with Penny but possibly give him an edge on Salem since Watts knew her.

2022-03-16 00:55:58 +0000 UTCI think this is the first time we really see Blake without the shadow of Adam. Before a part of her always feared that Adam would come after her. But now, even if Atlas is under attack, she personally feels more free then ever. As for Ironwood forcing Watts to work for him, it IS a stupid idea but there are reasons why it could still work out. Mostly Watts' hatred towards Pietro. We already know he hate him and Penny because that project was chosen over his. So it seems Ironwood banks on that hatred.
