I'm asexual, and I actually use the word Queer for that reason. Like Chi said, it feels more incluvsive. Queer, in general, is fine. It can be used as a slur, but a LOT of times it's just used for indentity. "Queer is an umbrella term for people who are not heterosexual or are not cisgender. Originally meaning "strange" or "peculiar", queer came to be used pejoratively against those with same-sex desires or relationships in the late 19th century" the latter is probablywhy it's sometimes used as a slur

2022-05-17 19:32:27 +0000 UTCI'm happy when people use queer, it just feels more inclusive to me! And yes, it has been used as against us but where I'm from "gay" was a WAY more common insult and said a certain way that will always be more painful than queer ever could (to me personally).
