I am a survivor of the AIDS epidemic (I was both a graduate student and a medical student during the peak of HIV/AIDS in NYC and I will never forget the shaming of the LGBTQ population that was so rampant throughout that time. To make these same mistakes all over again in such a short time span is really unforgiveable. The worst mistake I feel from what was presented was wasting those vaccines and not transferring them to countries in order to contain an outbreak from traveling overseas (as well as minimizing the awful symptoms of catching monkey pox!) How was that decision made and by whom?? Another unforgiveable decision. In order to curb any transmissible disease we need Universal Health Care Access and we need to refund public health in this country. Period. It is the only way to save our own lives in the future when more diseases make their way around the world as they surely will. Thanks for this review Eric! (PS, Watch Philadelphia the movie and Angels in America to understand some of what we went through with HIV/AIDS in the 80's and 90's)
