This movie introduced me to Mads Mikkelsen. He is an amazing actor . You need to watch Hannibal. His best role to date in my opinion. He makes the character completly his own. Maybe you could react to the first episode of Hannibal ( it's on netflix) and see if you like it

I love this film and the book. It's my favourite Bond story. I'm not super into early Bond films, and some of the ones after this aren't that great. I just think this is the best Bond story, the casino setting and mind games between Bond and Le Chiffre, Bond and his relationship with Vesper Lynd, all the stuff that happenes at the end. It's so good. It informs his character basically, and it's super sad. This movie also has a great cast. Daniel Craig might not be everyones ideal Bond, but I like how he plays him here. Perhaps not super faithful to the book, but I find it interesting. Mads Mikkelsen is always fantastic for me. He's a great actor and so handsome, haha. I know you said he's like the perfect bad guy, like his face, and I can kinda agree, but he is super handsome. I find it hard to dislike him, haha. And of course Eva Green, what can be said? She is, like Mads, always amazing. A great actress and also incredibly, strikingly gorgeous. Her voice is just, gah. I love all her scenes and Vesper Lynd will always be one of my favourite Bond characters. Also one of the things that I love about this movie is how they strip away all the silly gadgets that defined Bond for so long. It feels like a response to the more serious Jason Bourne (who I personally prefer over Bond), like some of the things you picked up on. Creating distractions, the cold calculating intelligence, that sort of stuff. Whereas old school Bond would magically somehow have a gadget that would help him get out of the situation he suddenly finds himself in, this time he has to use ingenuity and find a clever way around it. Jason Bourne still does it better I think, but this film was a step in the right direction for Bond. I'm rambling so I'm gonna stop typing now. Glad you watched this film and that you liked it. Was really fun watching it along with you. ^.^
