What’s kind of interesting is William’s end game. In the end, he wanted the hosts to have free will. That’s why his face lights up with delight when he’s shot in the season finale. It’s now real. There are stakes. That’s what he always wanted. It wasn’t fun for him if his winning was always predetermined. Bernard is trying to get to the bicameral mind - a brain that meta thinks about itself. You already caught timey wimey (I adored TGP). This season isn’t that confusing with the timelines. You already caught present vs two weeks later. That’s about as complicated as that gets. As for your questions, they all get answered. Bernard is leaking the equivalent of cerebrospinal fluid, and it messes with their processors. That’s what he injected himself with from the other host, to keep himself running. They have that little ball/core in their heads. That’s their brain. Without the fluid, it goes to hell. But what Bernard did is super interesting. A lot of people didn’t like season two. I honestly did. The season finale is all of the things. The one thing that gets me about the show is that Delores is the least interesting plot line for me. Evan Rachel Wood is supposed to be the lead, and I’m a little cold about her character. Give me Maeve and Bernard for days.

This season is definitely a slower burn but it pays off wonderfully in my opinion! I just gotta say, that shot of Dolores riding the horse while shooting the rifle is one of the most iconic shots in the series. It never fails to give me chills. Not to mention Evan Rachel Wood looks especially stunning.
