Mid-year update to 2020 goals!

I'll list the original goal and include the update after it.


1. No 60 hour work weeks. I’ll allow myself to go over 40 hours a week twice this year.

Pretty easy to not overwork since I don't have my own space to work most of the time. If anything I'm annoyed that I haven't been able to work more.


2. When I first started out with YouTube, part of how I measured my success was what kind of enemies I was making. The more right-wing nuts who left hateful comments and threatened me, the more I took it as a sign that I was talking about the right things. But reading all that definitely affects my mood. The goal basically boils down to making better decisions with my work for my mental health. No concrete way of showing if I accomplish this goal, but I'll know.

I've mostly done alright with this and taking care of my mental health, but there were of course surprising challenges due to the lockdown. I spend 85% of my time sitting less than 2 feet away from someone I can't stand, so that sucks, and even though I can afford to rent a place on my own/with a roommate, finding housing has been difficult during the lockdown. 


3. Average bedtime of 11:30pm or earlier every week.

Massive failure. Was averaging around a 1am bedtime before the lockdown but around 3am during it. 


4. Walk/run an average of 5000 steps/2 miles a day.

This suffered due to the lockdown as well. Averaging 3648 steps per day so far. Got a portable treadmill and got Ring Fit Adventure recently so I might be able to drag it above 5000 by the end of the year. Would have to average 6352 steps a day for the rest of the year. 


5. Go to the gym at least 100 times.

I was on pace for this before the lockdown but it is now impossible with the gym closed. But, I've started doing a lot of exercise at home so I consider this accomplished for sure. Also fixed my back pain thanks to my friend and high school physics teacher recommending a great chiropractor, so I can go much harder with the exercise now.


6. Lose 32 pounds to get to 175.

I've lost 5 pounds since the start of the year lol. 27 pounds left in half a year... argh. It's doable but would have been much easier if I had focused more and lost half of what I wanted to by the halfway point of the year.


7. Read 26 books.

Uhh... I've read like 5. Library's closed :(
