The thing I love most about this episode which I'm glad you agree with is all the character development on our characters motivations. And it's so great that it's what Oobleck wanted them to think about. Also I don't know if it's the most obvious thing but I and many other people believe the reason why he didn't ask Ruby her motivations is because like Yang said she always knew that she wanted this and what it meant to be a huntress. Also something that's funny since I don't think you notice it looks like the teachers weapon is also his thermos of coffee.
