2020-11-04 00:04:20 +0000 UTCI think it's interesting that even though Wrath/Bradley has been a villain for the whole series - the last few minutes of his life actually can make you feel sorry for him. He never had a choice in his life other than his wife, and it led to his death. In theory he could have tried to break away the way Greed did, but in practice he was too conditioned to obey. Hoenheim was definitely playing the long game after what happened with Xerxes. He never wanted to be involved, but he got dragged into it by the schemes of the Dwarf in the Flask. At first he was willing, but I have to believe that if he had known the Dwarf's plan, he would have refused, since the only thing he ever wanted in life was a) freedom and b) to have a family. But once he got both, he had to give up Trisha, Ed, and Al to protect the rest of the people of Amestris and to try to fix his mistake. Kimblee's surprise return is amazing. It's surprisingly fitting for his character, and yet the twist comes completely out of left field. One of the best surprise twists I've ever seen in any show. Oh, and Mustang's question to Hawkeye is amazing. They rely on each other - she wants him to worry about himself for a change when she finds out about his eyes, but he's still thinking in terms of a soldier and taking down a threat - selfless and a warrior at heart. Just three more episodes and the blooper reel left!

2020-11-03 14:48:26 +0000 UTCI like how everyone's seemingly-futile relentless attacks against Father still makes sense because it makes Father use his philosopher's stone to block the attacks and prompts him to go out and try and create another one. Just like how someone like Lust was healing herself by using her stone but Mustang wore her out by burning her multiple times.
