Yeah the universal problem with limited animation budgets is always crowd scenes, so unfortunately a realistic "crowded" place was impossible during volume 4 which makes that scene with sun look a little awkward, volume 4 had a few "growing pains" as I like to call them regarding animation issues like that also yeah sun grew up in Vacuo which I think at this point is implied to be the most "chill" with faunus which is probably why he seems to be ignorant of how the faunus struggle in other parts of the world. Whereas Blake has been constantly aware of it since she grew up in a faunus rights group turned terrorist organisation which makes for some interesting contrast regarding their world views. A common misconception I've seen from first time viewers is thinking Blake and her family always lived in that big home and she was in some way rich, which I think considering her father only became chieftain of Menagerie after stepping down as leader of the White Fang (as mentioned in this episode) that the big house in the centre of the island where they live works moreso like the Whitehouse in America where it's the place where whoever the chieftain at the time lives (I don't think they mention whether its hereditary, democratic, or some other system). Which I imagine considering what we know of blake's backstory from volume 1 means that before her father stepped down they spent their lives traveling as an organisation and protesting injustice and considering Blake didn't leave the white fang until years after the new leader took her father's place, she probably never actually got to stay in that house at all which is kinda sad in a way. also regarding your mention of news not reaching Menagerie, you have to remember that worldwide communication has been down since Beacon Tower fell, and that unlike the four kingdoms, menegarie doesn't even have a cctv tower so their communication with the outside world was probably somewhat limited before as well. Which means the whitefang could probably control a lot of the information coming into the island which very little trouble.
