I never liked how Raya constantly blamed Namaari for what happened, like she was a child following the orders of her mother who also happened to be the ruler of Fang. And lets be honest, Heart is doing much better than all the other regions, especially Fang which doesn't even have rice! The chief of Heart may claim that the dragon stone doesn't provide them anything, but he is either lying or delusional to believe that the only relic of dragon magic, which they have been hoarding, does not enrich their land in any way to be more fruitful than every other desolate region! Also, like for fairness Heart should not have gotten to just possess the stone for 500 years. I get everyone was fighting over it and maybe a resolution might not have been reached but the fair thing would have been to have the stone be passed through each region every 50 (or any agreed upon number of) years so it can be equally and fairly shared. Sure someone else might have decided to break the deal and not let go of the gem, which would start another conflict, but it irks me how the movie just implies that Heart, the place who is actually hoarding the gem and acting like it is theirs and they need to protect it from being stolen, is the good region.

2021-03-13 21:04:32 +0000 UTCThe first time I watched the film, it felt ok, but the expositions took me a little bit out of the flow. But with each viewing i like it more. The scene where Namarii sees Sisu in dragon form for the first time is so powerful. And I like at the end that Raya first wanted everyone to give her the gem pieces and it did not connect with the otherones. But then her giving up her piece and turning into stone really got me.
