2025-06-18 04:32:20 +0000 UTCYeah, Tony Todd was in most of the previous films, and he was already dying of cancer when he shot his scene for this one, so his last words were a very emotional farewell for fans (and they were ad-libbed by him too). Also, all of the ways to cheat Death he mentions were already introduced in those previous films. The real new deal with this one was all the time skip stuff and the fact that people on Death's list survived long enough to have families, creating this whole new dynamic of killing their descendants (there's even a theory going around that all the people who die in the previous movies are the Skyview victims' descendants). Also, JB was a completely mysterious character up to this point, only appearing as a mortician who seemed to know too much about how Death operates. For a long time there were theories that he was a personification of Death itself, and this movie finally revealed his origin story and why he knew so much. Finally, I just want to mention that every iteration in the movie where logs appear (I counted three, the last deaths being the most obvious one) is a nod to the franchise's most iconic sequence (which caused a whole generation to avoid driving behind log trucks 😂). I hope you go on with the series at some point, because I think it's pretty good in general.

Before she was murdered at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, she was at a mall in Toronto a month prior to her death in the food court she was going to get sushi when she felt something strange she said she felt this overwhelming anxiety and that she needed to get out of there said it was something she never felt before. And she left just in time, there was a shooting right where she was standing and someone died, had she not gotten out of there she would've been a victim at that Toronto mall. Ironically enough that's what inspired her to go to The Dark Knight Rises premiere, her realizing how fragile life is and unfortunately her life was taken at that theater by a James Holmes. I read her blog, and her Twitter post is still up from 2012, its so eerie. She talks about how you never know when its your time only to die a month later. I am not a superstitious person by any means, but her death just reminds me so much of these movies.
