Rogue completely absorbed Captain Marvel's powers, see the point of Rogue is that if she absorbs your power long enough she 'becomes' you, not only your powers but your memories, your personality, your everything. The 'present' Rogue absorbed Carol Denvers a bit too much and got stuck up forever not only with her powers, but with a bit of her personality and memories too, that together with a lot of other 'innocent' mutant memories was what shifted Rogue away from evil mutants to the X-Men. (that's a very crude and inaccurate summary, if I'd be accurate and specific I'd have to ramble about Marvel history for at least an hour... ๐ )
