I just want to clarify that sure anything the matron of death gives to vax can be seen as their bond strengthening but he’s already her champion, he accepted that. There’s no going back from being a champion of a deity like the matron of death, one that is so intrinsically linked to fate. Vax believes in her now so anything she gives him, he believes is his destiny. Vax isn’t ever going to catch a break after this lol.

2023-02-11 01:41:33 +0000 UTCAs for benevolent dragons: D&D tends to have a very black and white morality with dragons. Chromatic Dragons (Red, Blue, Green, White, and Black) tend to be evil. Metallic Dragons (Gold, Silver, Brass, Bronze, and Copper) tend to be good. There are also Gem dragons (Amethyst, Crystal, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz) which tend to be neutral.

During battle, the creature can then take control of this ambient magic, and bring forth powerful effects. This is why fighting a creature in it's lair tends to be much more dangerous than fighting it out of it's lair. The surrounding area can also be affected by the creature's magic, bringing forth passive effects such as strange weather, foul water, hallucinations, plants growing especially jagged and thorny, etc.
