2023-02-26 05:23:43 +0000 UTCI believe that in real life, it's Japan whose prime ministers resign as soon as they face humiliation or feel that they're not in the capacity to effectively govern because Japan is very culturally rooted in honor and respect. It's one of the things that I try to view the anime on instead of the values of other countries, which is why public perception crumbles at the sight of a slightly negligent government even though their heroes are 10x better than our real-life police, or American police for that matter. It's why even in other anime, particularly shounen anime, a lot of the "good qualities" in the young characters tend to be hard work, diligence, and being the best especially in school settings because in real life, Japanese students are expected to be the best. (see suicide rates around entrance exam season)
