I'm glad you were able to find a place with both broadband and no HOA! It sounds like an absolute nightmare to deal with. I know I could probably afford a place if I tried moving out of NYC, but I kind of love it too much and am being stubborn xD I didn't realize how creepy the Chuck E Cheese animatronics were! Yiiiiikes

My thoughts to each part: Part One: HOA; We own our home through admittedly 50% luck (at least) and the two things we told our realtor when we were pre-approved and shopping for a home to fit in our extremely narrow budget that we would NOT consider were 1. No broadband available areas and 2. ANY form of HOA. She tried to convince us that it would "drastically narrow" our options, but there was just no way I was going to buy my first home at 35 after saving for 10 years AND having a last minute grovel to my father-in-law to cover our daughter's medical bills so that we could keep our down payment intact (with rumors of a scary disease on the way...we bought in March of 2020...) and then have to ask f-ing ANYONE whether I could paint my front door whatever color I wanted... anyway... fuck HOA's... and; Part Two: Chuck E. Cheese; I'm still traumatized by the cheerleader animatronic from Showbiz Pizza.... *shudder* .... Birthday parties there and at Chuck E. Cheese in the 80s and early 90s were horrifying and fun at the same time...like having a party in a bright flashy haunted house. And lastly: we got fooled by a restaurant doing exactly what Chuck E. Cheese did with the ghost kitchen on Grubhub... A restaurant called "Apps All Around"....showed up in "TGI Fridays" bags. *sigh*
