Never noticed the parallels between this and Tangled but yeah, they are there. I did notice a parallel between Rasputin's death and the Shadow Man from the Princess and the Frog in the fact that both villains powers came from an object that our main hero breaks, and in doing that the ones who gave them their powers drag them to the afterlife.
