2023-07-21 10:35:13 +0000 UTCThe beginning of the Disney Renaissance! As an animator, I must respect this film. As a person, I love its story and its animation! Such a great classic and the beginning of an era. Also as Shane from Watcher points out in the sexy Disney character Top Five Beatdown, Ursula is hot as hell. Evil but sexy. People mistake this movie as Ariel wanting to change herself for a man. But the story is really that she is going after Eric because that's how she stays human. She wanted to live on the surface way before she saw Eric. She comes to love him, but she wants to be a human first and Eric's wife second. Even in the movie when she is being wooed by Eric, she spends most of her time taking in all the sights around her like the horses and puppets and people.

2023-07-18 19:54:32 +0000 UTCI'm not someone who usually loves villains, but I love Ursula. She of course is manipulative, but she doesn't lie about what she is doing. She says exactly what is going to happen. Ariel is just too naive (I'm being nice here for the Ariel lovers) and goes along with a bad deal. Not to mention, Ariel's willing to give away her family and her entire life for a man she has never even spoken to... Not the biggest Ariel fan, and think Ursula is more misunderstood than anything. She is the sister of King Triton after all... Maybe if they had been nice to her, maybe she wouldn't be "evil"! lol Only villain I've ever defended. Interested to hear what you think of the remake!

Its fascinating, the little hair blowing out her eyes was a mannerism added the actress would do it while recording I think that is so cute they added some of her real-life mannerisms to Ariel.

Or just naturally expecting her to fall for him, like a lot of males that time period would-especially a prince. He just has this kind of chilled/laid back attitude I love about him

2023-07-14 17:40:59 +0000 UTCoh this is my absolute favorite disney princess movie so i know it by heart. i was delighted to know that halle berry was going to star in the live acction adaptation and that they were going to improve on the story, so when i watched in the cinemas i was FLOORED. i cried and had so much fun and went home so happy <3
