My mom loved this movie as a kid

Also I meant to mention, earlier, that my favorite scene was the boat scene-after the pure imagination scene. His lines were TOTALLY improvised. And the adults reactions were very real,, lol

2024-01-12 20:37:52 +0000 UTCI get it, in todays day in time, but I love the touching. It takes us back to a simpler time, when people were expected to help raise others kids. It takes a village. I work in daycare, so there is a lot of fond touching. That sounds bad, but you know what I mean. lol You care for the kids around you, so a stroke of the hair or cheek is no big deal. That's not the case anymore, of course. And with the creepiness of everything else, you have to remember, this is Roald Dahl....Everything Roald Dahl wrote is a bit creepy... he also wrote the Trunchbull in Matilda... I love Gene Wilder as WIlly Wonka!! It was said that he suggested the cane hobble on the way out of the factory, and if he wasn't allowed to do the fake out fall, into the somersault, that he did not want to play the part. I love the movie. It's not one I want to rewatch a lot, but it takes me back to an innocent wonder. Everything is so sweet and nothing is taken too seriously. I hated the Johnny Depp remake. That was incredibly creepy!! Haven't seen the new one, but I plan to. Edited to add on... Just remembered the other thing I was meaning to write. Spoilers for anyone who has not finished the Harry Potter series, but there is a cross world theory that Willy Wonka is George Weasley, who got his hands on Hermione's time turner before she could turn it back in. He went back in time with some house elves, and once he lost Fred, he always felt he'd lost half of himself, which is why everything in the office is cut in half. Of course, nonsense, but it's one of the theories I really love to think about.

HE COULD HAVE WALKED ALL THIS TIME, AND HELPED HIS DAUGHTER OUT. Edit: And the touching thing was there for a reason, I think. Including Wonka seeming unsettling. As one reddit user stated children are often intrigued by things they shouldn't be. Things that appear innocent,.

I think my own nieces, and nephews might be creeped out, too, lol Edit: And with the grandparents since I have been in hospitals a lot, I would assume sponge baths, and bed pans, are how they shower-and go to the bathroom. You can live in bed for a while, that way. It's not very healthy, but plausible
