I finished watching the first episode and then came straight here, haha. I heard someone who went to the premiere (Pen and Sword Reflections on youtube) say that the people working on the show also noticed the first episode is exposition-heavy, but apparently, those people also felt that episode 1 was "the weakest" episode. So I have my fingers crossed that the writing will grow! But I agree the acting has been fantastic so far so I'm enjoying it too :D On a less serious note, here's my biggest takeaway after this episode: Cartoon Zuko: MY HONOR Live Action Zuko: MY DIARY I'm assuming they toned down some of those iconic lines/comedic scenes because animation tends to get away with more caricatures, and some moments don't translate well in live action. But I hope this adaptation will have its own memes!

2024-02-22 16:29:12 +0000 UTCI'm watching it right now, before watching your reaction lol. But I had to comment already, on how impressed I was by the acting??? Especially Dallas Liu-as Zuko. Dante Brisco made such an impression on me as Zuko-one of my ALL time favorite fictional characters- that I was waiting to see what Dallas would bring. And he nailed it! I also thought Gordon Cormier did a fantastic job as Aang, in terms of capturing his vulnerability-and how scared he was of the new role as Avatar.
