Rawr! Hello New Patrons! (NSFW)

Welcome! I've been seeing a lot of growth this month, and a few returning supporters. Very grateful and humbled to see the support. In fact, I'm only a few hundred away from my next stretch goal.

Speaking of which, let's talk about that! I've spent a lot of time considering where I want to move next. I had considered LA (and still do) but the housing there is garbage. Of course I'll need to downsize, but I wasn't expecting TINY studios to cost the same as three bedroom homes here. It honestly was an eye opening experience.

The next logical step is to move to downtown Phoenix and strengthen my bond with the city. Honestly this town has been really great to me, and I'd like to be closer to the heart of everything (instead of the suburbs where I'm currently at). Then eventually the transition to LA.

Right now I'm looking at late June or early August. I will likely still work out of my residence (like I do now) with a large room dedicated to body painting/photography/prop/costume making. The alternative is to rent a space to work out of, but it would need to be pretty close to my home. My gym is two miles away and I can't be bothered. ;-p

Anyway, thanks for listening to me ramble. This photo is of Michael D. from my Zodiac series. Have an incredible Friday!

That does sound super lovely, I'm not going to lie LOL. Minus the power going out ;p

I agree with Chris. You should come visit Toronto as a consideration for a new place. Think of beautiful summer days on the island beach or a walk through the park, hot chocolate by the fireplace on a cold winters day hoping the power doesn't go out from the ice storm sweeping through 😳

goood kitty, nice kitty :D

Hmmm! Haven't considered Florida. To be fair, my experience with the East Coast is minimal at best

Brandon McGill

May I throw Orlando in the mix.......... It's a beautiful city that is growing and has a lot to offer at half the cost of LA. It also has a very large LGBT community that is very active and embraced.

Portland and Seattle were on my radar for the longest time, but I feel like LA would lead to more success

One can dream!

You can still move to LA once you've made your first million $$$!

Arizona is definitely one of the cheaper places to live, housing wise (grew up there). Other cheap states for housing are TN, OK, KS and NE. But not necessarily meccas of art. You might check out Oregon. Beautiful state, not as expensive as CA, and many lively artsy places (Portland, Eugene, Corvallis, Cannon Beach among others).

Never been!

Oh I'm absolutely hiring movers. I can't do another move in the Summer by myself.

Brandon McGill

I am not sure it is possible to adquately convey how miserable it can be to move during the summer months in Arizona. If you find a place you love and turn it into everything you want it to be, it will likely turn out to be worth it in the long run. Hopefully you will be able to hire people to do most of the heavy lifiting.

Well, there is always Toronto ....

Chris

Ooooh! That sounds lovely! LA is going to happen, but I have a few ideas I want to incubate here first before making the giant leap. Also I'm slightly terrified. I am certain I'll find success there, but it's such a huge change.

Brandon McGill

Problem solved, Matt has got the solution

Tempe is fun, but it's a college town, and that creates it's own problems (mostly traffic)

Brandon McGill

May I suggest we BOTH move someplace new in LA? With my lawyer roommate? Someplace with lots of light for a studio room? Sorry, I just want you in LA already, purely selfishly.

Matt Kulisch

Tempe is my favorite town but I did enjoy Downtown Phoenix when I visited.
