Brandon McGill's Patreon AMA (Ask Me Anything)

Hello friends and fans! Thank you for supporting my art on here.  I'm guessing you might have a lot of questions about my art, how it's produced, the models I work with, or maybe something personal about Best or myself! Stuff that's not covered in the press, or shared with social media.

So let's open up a dialog. What would you like to know?

What are the rules? Ask Me Anything! Every question will be answered (though I reserve the right to exercise some privacy)! Looking forward to your questions.

P.S. This photo was from the recently posted time-lapse video from earlier today!

I know we are planning on going through Texas this year! Might hit up surrounding states!

That's a great question. For awhile Facebook was my first sharing source. I have nearly 15,000 followers on there. However if the model had a hint of cleavage, they would not let me show it, or would make it hard to advertise. Now with Patreon, I don't have that restriction (as long as the client is also comfortable)!

Hi Brandon. I am just curious as to why your paintings of women are less explicit as your paintings of men. They are all great though.,

Hey Brandon, when will you be visiting like the east coast like Alabama, Tennessee Georgia, i notice you tend to stay west coast alot of times.

Hey Brandon, what's your favourite body painting and why?

Good question actually! It can be a challenge, yes! Generally I have to find a comfortable balance so the model doesn't sweat, but also doesn't freeze. The paint works better with warm water as well! And lots of things can make the paint act weird (such as excessive oil on the skin or makeup they wear to the session).

It's a weird practical question, but: Do you have a difficult time maintaining a comfortable temperature in your studio for models to be nude while working with them while you're clothed and at the same time not affecting your paints, adhesives, and various other materials (which, I must assume, are also sensitive to temperature, to the lighting, and other environmental conditions)?

Good question! I struggle with both stepping away and relaxing. Being a full time artist sometimes means my work day never really ends, and it's hard for me to find balance. My partner Best is usually the one responsible for pulling me away from work (when I really need it), and helping me appreciate quieter times. <3

After being focused all day, how do you step away and relax? (I understand that you are fluid but it reminds me of 3D chess)
