Can you call it a reunion if you're meeting for the first time?

Phew! This one has been in the pipes a looong time. We ran into a lot of delays and ran through a lot of sketches to really get the look and feel of this moment right, and it's one of those pieces I feel a little like I could just keep adjusting forever, so I had to pick a point to say good enough and move on. I think it's still come out pretty solid, though I might mess with the color balancing or something like that before it goes into the game. Zilya-lya and Fenzole worked together to bring us this piece, to finally offer a proper introduction to this pair just as you first enter this area of the game. It was tough finding that right balance of friendly and "a little too friendly" to back up the feel described in the game, but I think this is pretty close.

With this, I think the art queue for MVOL is finally running out. I can think of one piece I'm still waiting on that's looking more and more like the artist is just never getting back to me (I've been as patient as the mountains because I really want it from them and we even got the sketch done and approved) so at this point I might have to get it refunded just to close the book on things there. I might have a couple others written down somewhere to check on, commissioning art can be a real waiting game sometimes. There are still more scenes in MVOL I'd love to get art for, and a couple I'm determined to get art for sooner or later, but for now it's just been a relief to cut out some of the stress of always struggling to get things done with all these different artists. I think that's probably been the single most stressful part of this job, honestly, and right now I just can't really handle it. I've got the one helping me out with some concept art for the future and it's been real low pressure, which has been nice. I know you guys want more art though, so I'll keep working toward a solid long-term solution.
