2020-02-05 18:10:00 +0000 UTCThe writers spent most of season 3 debating with the network to agree an end date for the show, because they had a plan for a beginning, middle and end for the show and they were not able to execute it, if they didnt have this agreement settled. The network was hesitant because the show was really successful and it was unheard of at the time to do this. Anyway, around this point of the show it became public that the show would end at season 6 with just 16 episodes in each season to cut the filler. This did adjust slightly as season 4 was the year of the writers strike, so it has just 14 episodes instead. Those 2 stories got pushed into season 5. The ultimate point I'm trying to make is the show gets real crazy, intense, focused(and imo epic) for these final 54 episodes until the end of the show so..... good luck!
