Yup, I use to work with children around Mason's age and we had this little girl she was a bit of a nightmare, throwing toys and tantrums she would push and shove me and the other children she would scream. So one day one of my coworkers is stern with her and puts her in time out. She goes to her mom and her mom is upset with us saying that we yelled at her daughter. One thing I noticed with my time working with toddlers and preschoolers, is that you can tell who actually disciplines their child and you can tell who talks to their kid regularly. Side note had a 2 year girl and I carried on a conversation with her I was so shocked by how well spoken she was.
