A tale of two Judgements

A couple hours before Midnight, exhausted from my camping trip (I hiked over 12,000 steps), I decided I needed to choose a completely different photo for Judgement. Why do I do this to myself? :P The first one wasn't even bad. Look, I even had the border on it and everything!

But was it really "Judgement"? That's the question on everyone's mind.

It's not, but it's on MY mind! :P So what does the Judgement card mean, exactly? There are lots of interpretations, but generally it's ushering in a time of awakening. Decisiveness and self evaluation. For every ending, there is a beginning.

Do you feel the time of renewal and growth coming? Or do you just feel judged?

So after looking at both options, and looking at the Rider Waite card, I felt like the horn blowing felt more like he was announcing judgement, rather than inviting them in to listen, like the first version.

Who knows though.. I may change my mind. ;p

I know a lot of you mentioned you liked Tyler's recent post... funny timing right?

I wrapped the same material that's on his body around the camera to achieve this look.

Because Tyler has modeled for me for so long, we were very in sync on poses.

That being said, it was a rare treat since I don't see much of Ty these days! He has been keeping to himself the last couple of years, working on personal growth and hobbies, but took a break from his privacy to participate in this series.

I'm very appreciative of him!

I hope you've enjoyed reading about the Judgement card, and catching up with me on Ty.

I'm very exhausted from the camping trip.

Would you like to see photos?  There are flowers, and trees... and I'm sure I can throw in a butt or two.

Also I got really excited when someone wanted to buy a canvas painting from me and was quoting 1500-3000 dollars. Wow, imagine how much good that would do? I could put it toward marketing Tarot! I got excited. But for some reason, my gut told me that he was lying. So I looked up his email address....

And it was a scam. :( A damn scam.

Not that I'm particularly judgmental, but it takes a certain kind of evil person to scam artists. >_> Most of us don't have benefits/health care/safety net.  We just sort of exist, make art, and perish. And if we're lucky, people remember our efforts. I suppose I too hope for the same.

Sorry if that sounded bleak! I'd much rather make art than sit in a cubicle! I'm just saying that the world doesn't really support creators as much as it should, yet everyone consumes media (that came from creative people).

Thank you for listening to my BrandonTalk, and lets take one last look at Judgement:

Hope you've enjoyed this post! Let me know what you think. :)

Love,

I think so too! I liked both for different reasons. I'm sure they will end up in the book together...

Like I've said.. you can never go wrong with some Tyler M! He is fantastic on this card as he is in anything he's been in. And as always the artwork is great. Altho neither card idea is wrong, I think "Blowing the horn" fits the idea of the card better.

Richard Basen

Very much so!

Brandon McGill

Awesome! Hiking pics are coming then <3

Brandon McGill

Thank you very kindly! I was nervous about choosing a new photo, but I "felt" the judgement with the final pick!

I agree with David about Tyler’s gaze. That with him blowing the horn says, “Do I have your attention?” Yes, hiking pictures are welcome.

Eric Curtis

Great work. Well done! And yes, we would love to see pictures of your hike!!

Chris

Tyler's piercing gaze is certainly judgmental.
