What was I made for?

Have you heard the song by Billy Eilish?

Feelin these lyrics today:

"I used to float, now I just fall down

I used to know but I'm not sure now

What I was made for

What was I made for?"

It's been really slow this year, and although I'm trying my best to get bookings, they just aren't there right now... unless I give them away.

I'm not taking it personal, but it's pretty crushing when art is how you support yourself. I had a great showing at Fan Fusion, and I'll be back at Pride, but it's got me worried about the future.

If you have any ideas, feel free to share them below. If you want to sponsor a painting, send me a DM and I'll send you information. I'm also taking commissions, and working a custom painting for someone (and just finished a tattoo design).

Anyway, I'm not trying to bring you down. Just trying to be realistic with myself. I'm looking for part time art instructor jobs, and other odd jobs to get by in the meantime.

Don't worry about this page! I still have lots of people I'm scheduling. Work is getting done. I'm just not really getting paid for it these days (Example: I made 50 dollars from Fan Fusion, and that went to parking). I can't sustain myself on that, and funds are vaporizing faster than the water in the desert. Soooo let's distract you with some art!

Let's check out EMMA!

Emma's last painting was particularly challenging because she's been going through her own health challenges, and has been grieving, so we both had to rally ourselves!

She's from the United Kingdom, and during her first body painting many years ago, she brought me British Chocolate so I can experience it!

She's worked in a Corrections Facility since then, got in touch with her spiritual side, and has led a pretty interesting life, raising 2 boys alone.

She said to me, I don't do makeup, I do BODY PAINT! So proudly, and so fiercely. And that brings me comfort, and a smile today. I hope it does the same for you.

I'm doing a little better with the grieving, after my Nana passed, but now I'm trying to figure out... what was I made for?

Love,

Brandon

What was I made for? What was I made for?
