The Pride Post - Part Two

Ready for another doozy? Welcome back!

Time doesn't feel like it flows in a straight line, because just yesterday it was JUNE and bam, it's suddenly JULY. Over half the year is over? Excuse me?

THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT. I cannot stress that enough.

I painted SEVENTEEN PEOPLE last month! Most of it was to give back to the community. To celebrate people who should be seen more. So while I didn't make any money from the exchange, we shared an incredible journey together. That matters to me, and hopefully, to you.

The photographs featured here are done by myself, Regal Photography, or Bald Pirate Photography, who I worked with on many of these shoots. Brandi did the airbrushing. Edwin, Cibola, Toy, and myself did faces during the group shoot.

Anyway, let's continue, shall we? As pictured at the top, we have...

#8 The Dancing King - Alex Sherman

I first met Alex during one of my appearances as a judge for Rising Star! He's originally from Portland, and is a King that performs locally in the show "Magick".

This was his first time being painted, and I witnessed a journey from shy and reserved, to confident and a bad ass by the time the shoot was done. I look forward to sharing more from this beautiful adventure we shared.

#9 The Adventurer - Jack 1up

Besides being an exhibitionist, and a former Mascot, Jack is also hilarious! He's also not from my usual orbit, but that was kind of the point! Some fresh faces and new stories!

I'm planning on working with Jack again on Tuesday!

#10 and #11 - Wynter is Coming

Another new face is Wynter, featured on Saturday and Sunday of last week. I'm not as familiar with her, as she was previous friends with Brandi (airbrush) and Rodrigo (photography). That being said, it was great working with her, and we got some great shots both days.

#12 - The Ringmaster - Eddie Broadway

Eddie has a long history in the valley as a Title holder, a powerful performer, and a KING among kings. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and he won't apologize for it. I had the honor of working with him once more, but our first painting was in Gods and Monsters!

#13 - The Balance - Netta vs. Sir Nate

I was also joined by Sir Nate this month, who also goes by Netta. They do hair for a living, after trying just about everything else, they always came back to hair. They're also a title holding Drag King, winning multiple bar titles for several years. I enjoyed the energy, kindness, and balance they brought to the project. It was such a joy to work with them!

#14 - The Firecracker - Amber

This character was a bit of a firecracker, but some beautiful art was made! Is there a story behind my opening sentence? Probably! You'll have to wait until her post to find out ;p

#15 - The Comedy Queen - Akasia Knuckles

When I first met Akasia (Megan) I witnessed her perform Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, but as a whale observing from the Ocean, singing only in Whale Noises! That's the level of hijinks they bring to their performances, and they were a great addition to the Pride shoot!

They currently perform at Stacy's and the Rock.

WOW! What a collection of body art!

The next two paintings are both Bloom related, so I'll save those for a different post! I'm especially excited for you to see the Neon one I did...

What did you think everyone? Would love to know your thoughts please <3

Love,

Brandon
