I landed on the man with both feet staring at his chest. When he saw me coming down from the sky towards him, his hands went towards his waist to try to pull a gun, but it was already too late.
My flying kick didn't knock him out, so I had to punch him in the face so that he finally lost consciousness, dirtying some of my hand with blood. He'd take the gun and shoot me, I'd have no mercy on anyone who tried to kill me.
I dragged his body behind one of the vans and hid while Gambit arrived. I signaled him to wait hidden around the junkyard building and he nodded.
Four men came from inside the shed on alert. They were coming for the "guinea pigs," but the noise that the man I knocked down made when I fell warned them.
From my hearing, I could identify that they had split into two groups of two people, each coming from one side looking between the vans to try to find me or to find the man who was supposed to be watching the vehicles.
Gambit was watching me from afar waiting for the perfect moment. Knowing that I could count on his support when one of the men came near me, I threw myself towards him and punched him in the chest, throwing him in a pile of garbage. The other men located me and pointed their guns at me, but I wouldn't stand in place waiting to take a shot.
I used my speed far above an ordinary human and got out of their sight.
"Quick, cover me, I'll get a "shield" in here." Some of them had the idea of using the "guinea pigs" as hostages and tried to open the door of the van while the others were covering, but for them to stay together was exactly what Gambit wanted.
As the three men gathered to open the door, a small playing card flew towards them and by the time they noticed the object glowing in purple, it was already too late.
*Boom*
The explosion caused the three men to be dragged back a little, which gave me a chance. I used my speed to get close to them, running and my red gloves met the three of them before they realized.
With everyone disagreeing, I began to open the vans' doors so I could recover the victims while Gambit gave me cover for the people who had been alerted inside the shed.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, the victims were all children. So I was able to get them all out of the vans quickly and take them somewhere away from the battle so no one would use them as hostages and put all of us at risk.
*Boom*
While I was putting them unconscious hidden in the middle of some disassembled cars, I heard an explosion that probably came from one of Gambit's letters. When I came back he had already taken the metal baton he used in battles and was using a van as cover for the weapons the men were pointing at him.
All 21 men came out of the Shed, including the big man who seemed to be their leader.
When Gambit saw me, I made a sign with my hand to him and he soon understood. We had used this strategy before, so doing it now would certainly occur without too many complications.
I rushed back before the men could locate Gambit between the vans and sucking in a considerable amount of air, I blew my icy wind, leaving them slow and unbalanced because of the temperature and strength of the wind.
At that moment they unbalanced, Gambit lifted over the cars and threw 4 cards at them, throwing some unconscious men away leaving only 11 men, including the big man who had not yet said anything.
"Hmm, so some kids showed up thinking they could stop us? Hahaha, what a joke. You'll need to drink a lot of milk before you can hit us head-on." The man laughed as he ran out towards Gambit ignoring the vans in the middle of the way.
First of all, we were surprised at his speed, which was much greater than that of an ordinary person, secondly what surprised us was the strength he showed. He left dragging the vans like they weighed only a few pounds.
Gambit was frightened not to expect him to have such great strength but used the enormous agility and mastery that he had with his staff and deviated from man's onslaught.
The other men were recovering from the explosion and getting ready to draw their weapons and shoot Gambit, so while he was distracting the leader I ran to the goons and before they could understand I had already knocked down 3 of the 10. The other seven turned to me and started shooting. Fortunately, I had trained a lot with Gambit this, and of the 7 bullets, I managed to dodge 6, where only one hit the right side of my abdomen.
At that time I approached the three closest men and sent them flying too. With only 4 men left now, I gave them a little blow to destabilize them and ran to the 2 closest men.
The two remaining men shot me, but being only two bullets I ran and managed to deflect easily, knocking out the two remaining goons.
While Gambit distracted the leader, I lifted my shirt slightly to see the gun wound and noticed that the projectile had not penetrated deeply. This week training under the sun made me stronger, faster and more resistant again, that was good.
The wound hurt a bit, but it wasn't so much pain as to stop me from helping Gambit. So I ran quickly to the man who was trying to kill my partner and punched him, but something that had never happened before happened this time.
Usually, when I punch someone, the person is sent flying several meters, but this time it was different. The man just staggered forward a bit and turned to me with a smile.
I'd normally have to be scared of that, since my life was in danger, but... I wasn't scared. It was the same feeling as playing football with Remy rather than with normal people, it seems the challenge was making me more excited than scared.
The man turned to me and punched me at a slower speed than I did, but I wanted to test his strength and punched his hand on the way to my face.
When our hands met, I felt a pain-numbing my arm and had to force my feet a little to stabilize me on the ground while the man just took a small step back.
I didn't think I'd find someone with a strength like mine, not so soon. Now what? Now I wanted to fight this man even more, to know what my limits would be.
