235 - NFS Coming!
Added 2024-05-10 15:59:07 +0000 UTCWith the Hulk finally calmed down and Bruce explaining to Peter and Ned how the Hulk came to be, the two boys didn't know what to do.
Knowing that their friend was actually a mutation that happened to a scientist trying to make Captain America's serum had never occurred to them.
In their minds, the Hulk was just a kid with family problems who spent most of his time at the Oasis to escape abusive parents.
But how could they imagine that instead of abusive parents, the Hulk had no parents?
Now it made sense why Hulk was hooked up to the Oasis 24 hours a day.
The only thing that confused them was how Oasis had managed to get Hulk's consciousness into the game.
Hulk realized how strange they were acting toward him and began to feel bad.
"If you don't like Hulk as much as Bruce, then Hulk go away!" Hulk said angrily and sadly just before his body disappeared.
Seeing this, Peter and Ned felt guilty, they were just confused by this strange origin story of the Hulk, it wasn't that they didn't like the Hulk, they just didn't know how to act.
"I guess we should have comforted him better..." Ned said, feeling bad.
"I think so too...now was the time he needed our comfort the most..." Peter replied.
Seeing how Ned and Peter cared for the Hulk made Bruce feel even worse, because from what he saw in Ned's streams, the Hulk was like a big, powerful child, when someone complimented him, he was all happy and shy, but when someone stressed him, he didn't have enough emotional control to deal with it in a mature way.
Even those two kids managed to get along with him and learn how to deal with the Hulk, while I had him in my body for several years and never even knew he could talk...' Bruce thought. Bruce thought with shame at the difference in his treatment of the Hulk compared to two high school kids.
"Wait, the Hulk doesn't know how to turn off his location, we can see where he is from his friends list!" Ned realized, causing Peter and Bruce to look surprised.
"That's right, we can go talk to him now to calm him down!" Peter said excitedly.
But before Bruce could get excited, Ned looked at him and sighed. "Bruce, let's add each other as friends, but let me and Peter talk to Hulk first, when he's ready to meet you I'll let you know, okay?"
Hearing this, Bruce was a little disappointed to see that he was the cause of it, but he accepted it.
"All right, I've waited so long for this, a little longer won't hurt me." He said as he accepted Ned's friend request.
After saying goodbye to Bruce, Peter and Ned disconnected from the ESW and went to the Hub where the Hulk was in the Oasis.
While the two of them were chasing the Hulk, Alex ordered Oasis to return with the advertising campaign for the Need for Speed game in full swing.
Since it had been a while since the invasion, Alex thought it would be a good time to get back to the ad campaign.
At this point he was too lazy to do another in-person event, so instead of doing an event like that again, now that Oasis had so many billions of users, Alex knew that doing something like that was not only pointless, but could also be counterproductive, since so many people died in the invasion, he imagined that doing something like that could bring back bad memories in people who would see the game as something bad and this could affect the sales of the games.
So to get around this, Alex decided to simply bring the advertising campaigns back into the game and increase the hype of the game for people.
In a modern world, men have many passions and cars have always been one of them.
With people looking for maximum performance, maximum aesthetics, the limits of drifting, everything was in Alex's scope when developing the game.
Since this game was to be controlled in VR, the physics were as realistic as real life, so it was much more difficult than the Need For Speed of his previous world.
Alex's only doubt was how he was going to support the game, be it through a one-time purchase system, or making the game free-to-play with micro-transactions, or a monthly fee like Elder Scrolls: Warcraft.
In the end, Alex realized that the most profitable way was a monthly fee, so he set Need for Speed's monthly fee at $5, which was half of Elder Scrolls: Warcraft.
What made him set this price was that although NFS was a good game, it wasn't as developed and broad as Elder Scrolls: Warcraft.
While ESW was a game with a whole new world where players could play for years without venturing into everything the world had to offer, NFS was more like a big playground.
Alex felt that charging the same price for both games would be unfair to Elder Scrolls: Warcraft.
Charging players $5 per month instead of $60 all at once like the other game companies in his world did had its pros and cons.
The downside was that he would make less money in the first month because the monthly fee was 12 times less than the price of the full game.
But the advantage was something else, since the player would only have to pay $5 instead of $60 to play the game, many more people would pay to try the game, which would make the player base at least 3x larger than it would have been originally.
And if a player played ESW for more than 12 months, Alex's profit would be higher.
He didn't see it as a way to make a quick buck, since Alex was already earning over 70 million GP a month, but as an investment.
An investment that would accumulate over time and generate much more profit than focusing on immediate gains.
To celebrate the launch of the game, Alex thought of a promotional event to be held at the Oasis.
Since there were already cars in the Oasis, Alex knew that there were players who organized Car Meets every day around the world, so to encourage this and increase the hype, Alex edited some Hubs to have some parking lots with various things to make the Car Meets cooler.
These places were large parking lots with car washes, rooms with professional lighting, a floor just for drifting practice, and even a mechanic so the player could customize their car at the event itself.
By launching this on the same day, Alex was excited to see how the public would react.

So true, there was this time that I was writing 2 novels and there were times that I had to read the whole chapter before the new one that I was going to write because I forgot how the things were going lol

Just my guess as a reader and writer. It can be tough juggling so many things, let alone when working on multiple books concurrently
