“Then when I was about to play 'Eclipse of Fate' and win the game, he activated his trap card and didn't even give me time to activate my card...” I finished explaining to the audience the reason for my latest defeat.
Despite losing, I had had a lot of fun in that game.
As time went by, many other talented players were emerging, making the competition for the Rank fiercer by the day.
Ding
A notification sounded.
Curious, I looked around my vision on the Runestone and saw a bright red dot.
“Another FrostHaven post?” I wondered aloud as I clicked on that red dot.
Just as I imagined, it really was a notification of a FrostHaven post on Whisper!
[The wait is over!
Following requests from the community and the resounding success of Megalovania on SyncStrike, FrostHaven Entertainment presents the official music video for the song!
Did you enjoy the energy of SyncStrike while playing and want to feel more of it outside the game too? The power and energy of music to help you perform your daily tasks to their full potential?
Check out the full video here: (link)]
“Woah, did they really release a music video for the SyncStrike song?” I commented to the audience while clicking on the link in the post.
[@lolman: If this music video is as frantic as the gameplay for this song, I'm going to have to watch it ten times just to process everything].
[@PaladarBlade: I'm already terrible at playing this song, now I'm going to suffer trying to follow the music video too... why FrostHaven?]
[@Kingspy: Bruh, I needed some new songs for my gym workout playlist, this came at the right time!]
[@Nikolaus: Let's watch this Owen, I'm curious to see how FrostHaven is going to make this clip].
Seeing the comments from the stream viewers, I nodded in agreement and quickly disconnected from Runestone.
Switching the stream from Player Core to my computer screen, I quickly opened Whisper and clicked on the video link, redirecting me to the video on MeTube.
What surprised me was that although the video had only been released a few minutes ago, the number of views was already over 15,000, with the number being updated in real time and rising constantly!
Curious, I clicked Play and what popped up for me was a sword battle between a little green goblin that I was already very used to, against a Player with black hair, green eyes, a slim and muscular body, dressed in a black and green cyberpunk-style outfit holding a technological sword that perfectly matched the style of the battle scene.
Seeing how familiar this Player's appearance was, I couldn't help but comment. “That Player fighting the Goblin is FrostHaven himself, right?”
[@Nikolaus: Yeah, I'm sure it's him, apart from the difference in clothing, everything else is identical to the FrostHaven you battled in Runestone lol]
[@JamesBreaux: It must be great to be a Game Creator, not only do you get to make your own music videos however you want, but you also get to star in them?]
[@MarcoPhelippe: That's one advantage of being a Supernatural singer or actor, you can save a lot of money by making music videos for your music depending on what you intend to do].
[@Mattiu: But Game Creators also charge a fortune to do this kind of thing, if you're not famous it's not even worth it...]
Because I had played this song so many times yesterday, I had practically memorized the atmosphere.
But unlike what I had imagined, where the music would start with the prologue that we always heard when we went to play, in this video the music was already at the end, playing in a slightly muffled way that was difficult to understand.
When the Player defeated the Goblin, instead of the game's big screen showing the score he got, what appeared was just a small projection of the letter S, but the Player didn't even look at it as he turned his gaze to a dark corner of the alley where the battle was taking place.
The environment was still a mess from the glitch effects that were happening during the music, but among these effects a strange blue glow that I never noticed existed in that part of the map was slowly appearing.
The camera shifted to Player's face, which although covered by a black cloth mask that covered his mouth, I could still tell he was smiling.
Stretching his hand forward, the Player I believe to be FrostHaven pointed his sword at the blue glow.
“What's he doing...?” I wondered aloud, trying to understand.
To my surprise, the blue glow he was pointing at began to move closer, coming out of the shadows it was in and finally into the light, showing itself as a white skeleton in a modern blue outfit, holding a sword made of white bones.
One of the skeleton's eyes was empty, while the other was where the blue light was, a small blue fireball.
“Is this a secret enemy?” I asked in surprise.
At this point the chat was also shocked by this new enemy.
Up until now, everyone thought that the only enemy they would have in the game would be the little green goblins, which, although realistic, were just standard enemies that every player faced in F Rank dungeons on a regular basis.
This skeleton that FrostHaven was preparing to face in the game was an enemy that no one had ever seen before!
“Has anyone ever seen this skeleton like monsters from higher rank dungeons?” I asked in surprise.
[I've never seen anything like it!]
[Even though I've researched so many monsters from higher dungeons, I've never seen any skeletons like it].
[How does a skeleton like that stay upright?!]
[Maybe it's a necromancer?!]
As FrostHaven and the skeleton stood facing each other, music began to play.
As this was a music video rather than just a normal game, the camera was constantly moving, highlighting the battle in such a way that my heart was racing.
As soon as the first fast-paced riff came in, the skeleton advanced without hesitation, swinging his bone sword with absurd speed. FrostHaven responded immediately, dodging at the last second, turning his body along with the rhythm of the music. With each strong note of the guitar, an impact was exchanged between their blades.
The amazing thing was that, unlike the Goblin, who occasionally needed a helper to speed up his attacks and keep up with the music, the skeleton was able to teleport, making it possible for him to keep up with the rhythm on his own!
At the exact moment when the melody became more frenetic, the bones of the skeleton's sword shot out like projectiles, following a pattern impossible for someone with no sense of rhythm to escape.
FrostHaven slid to the side in perfect time, dodging each blade as if he were dancing to the music.
He leapt forward, landing another blow in sync with the beat, and the impact sent blue sparks flying from his skeleton.
The stream chat exploded:
[THIS IS INSANE!!!]
[MY GOD, LOOK AT THE RHYTHM OF THE DODGES]
[THE SKELETON IS USING THE RHYTHM AGAINST HIM!!!]
[HOW IS THIS A RANK GAME?!]
Although I didn't feel the adrenaline rush of playing this myself, the camera control that was happening by changing angles all the time during the battle was making me feel like I was in FrostHaven's shoes!
“Damn, I really want to play a battle like that!” I said excitedly.
[Owen, you're good at Runestone, but we know you couldn't do it without completing the song on Medium difficulty LMAO!]
[LOOOL]
[You were going to die in the first few seconds of that difficulty!]
Ignoring these comments, I went back to paying attention to the battle on the screen.
Suddenly, the music stopped for a second... and then came back with a bang, taking the battle to another level.
The skeleton crossed his arms and spun in the air, creating a circle of blue fire around him.
With the most intense beat, he attacked with a sequence of blows that were impossible to follow without a perfect reading of the rhythm.
But even with this high difficulty, FrostHaven moved with a precision that I didn't think was possible for an F Rank Player, or in his case, F Rank Game Creator, hitting a parry at exactly the right time to break this combo and not take any damage, and causing the last damage that was missing for the skeleton to be defeated.
FrostHaven stood still for a moment, catching his breath.
The small projection of an “S” appeared again, but he didn't look at it. Instead, he stared at where the skeleton had been, as if he was still processing what had just happened.
The chat exploded once again:
[THAT WAS THE BEST FIGHT I'VE EVER SEEN!!! THE MIX OF THE INCREDIBLE BATTLE WITH THE MUSIC SYNCHRONIZING PERFECTLY WITH EACH ATTACK... BRUUUHHH]
[SOMEONE CLIP THIS NOW!!!]
[IT WAS ALL IN RHYTHM, TOO PERFECT]
[WE NEED TO FIND OUT IF THIS WAS A SECRET OR SOMETHING NEW WHEN THE GAME COMES OUT]
FrostHaven finally lowered his sword and looked at the camera.
Even though he didn't say anything, the smile that appeared beneath his mask showed that he knew he had done something fucked up.
And from the reaction I was seeing from everyone, he was right.
Looking again at the number of views of the video, I was shocked to notice that from the 15,000 it had when I started watching it, the number had now risen to 27,000, and it was still rising at an astonishing rate!
'Could this be the first Game Creator to be known by ordinary people first as a musician and then as a Game Creator? ' I thought as I laughed.

Thanks! "shifted to Player's face" should be "the Player's". "this skeleton like monsters from" should be "this skeleton-like monster". I think "HOW IS THIS A RANK GAME" should be "AN F-RANK".

2025-03-03 22:27:37 +0000 UTCIsn’t this supposed to be a music video? Not a gameplay video? Cause if it’s a music video then the reactions don’t make all that much sense.

2025-02-27 16:47:04 +0000 UTCOh heck yes that has to be in the game as a final challenge to anyone trying to beat the song heck he could make secret enemies for all of his songs and only by beating them can you get a SSS

2025-02-18 06:13:26 +0000 UTCAwesome fight! Great descriptions carrying along the readers. He should add in a gauntlet mode once the game has fully released. Go through every song with a rank at the very end, true mastery.

2025-02-18 05:56:18 +0000 UTCI love this chapter and i'm glad that my previous comment helped out, even if just a little, with this one. It really did come out great and the moves Sans used during the battle actually came out better than I imagined.

2025-02-18 04:07:09 +0000 UTCWould love to see him release a real album for all his songs, it would be cheaper and faster than making normal video games, and it might make more money than his current superpowered games

2025-02-18 00:24:24 +0000 UTCYou should have it so that the fights get progressively more cinematic as you increase in difficulty, and maybe give the illusion of like continent destroying strikes as they fight even though they are only F rank.
