Idk if u remember a few episodes ago when garnet and pearl had the talk and pearl was like “I’m just a pearl, I’m useless on my own I need someone to tell me what to do” it’s bc like peridot Said, pearls are supposed to be servants, they’re not supposed to think on their own and they’re programmed to be dependent. Which is why when Rose left, Pearl looked for another person to depend on, which is part of the reason why she kept wanting to fuse with Garnet
