I'd love to mordians be good, I play praetorians so though it would nice to port them over. But sadly mordians are so bad I play custom only.

2021-02-17 02:53:10 +0000 UTCI'm really looking forward to that scion video you mentioned in this one. I play Admech, which I'm told is guard strats with more weird stuff. So, I've always been interested in building a guard regiement and I REALLY like the look of scions. Something about regular looking dudes in power armor praying their plasma guns dont backfire before they hop out the Valkyrie just gets me.

2021-02-16 14:39:30 +0000 UTCI think Mordians should have army wide overwatch like Tau or something like Ultramarines Defensive Focus stratagem so a number of units could overwatch at once. I agree Tallarn shouldn't have the minus 1 to hit when their vehicles advance.

It feels that, with the possible exceptions of Cadians and Catachans, it's always going to be better to take a custom regiment tailored to exactly what you want to do, and I'm not sure about the Catachans. The +1 strength is great, but the extra attacks are dependent on being within 6" of a character. That's bad for the Guard because they generally have loads of infantry spread all over the place - Straken is buffing a small amount of your army, pointswise - and because they're too easy just to shoot out from around Straken.
