Gladiator Review

Just getting in to 40k. I am building Necrons and Ultramarines and got one of these. Learning a lot from your videos and looking forward to getting these armies built/painted and on the table.

These tanks would be very good in Ultras if Roboute could make them reroll. In Ultras, the Core keyword + the melee capability + the hability to hide a Dreadnought more easily being terrrain make this an obvious choice to use Redemptors instead. Smoke Screen is way too pricy for a single use at 1 CP, that CP is better used somewhere else and Tiguirius can also give that -1 to hit if needed. I just feel all that disapointing for Gladiators.

Usually when I play my IH gladiator I play it as a Reaper and pair him with Feirros, signum array is just too good a buff not to. Especially on that twin Gat cannon. I was able to table 20 kroot in one volley with it. It also really helps if you have any doctrine stratagems active like Methodical Firepower or Adaptive strategy. Due to the weapons type difference.

Personally, I think the Valiant is the best option. Slap a third melta on it. That's ten shots (a moderate volume) of absolute carnage into anything that walks, crawls, swims, or flies. And unless your opponent is running massive infantry blocks, it's liable to eat a big chunk out of them (between damage and morale losses).

Do you think it’s worth the points to put a Black Templar Multi-Melta on the Valiant?

So, my space marines are Black Templars. I've been seriously considering one of these since we got our 5++ option. With those specific things in mind, my vehicles right now are a Redemptor (usually with gatling) and a Venerable Dread las cannon + missile platform. Which one gets dropped for the gladiator, and which gladiator do I put in place? Should I got with the anti-tank just in case or do the reaper? The reaper is super good in one match up of mine (orks) but the other players I am less sure about it.

3rd? We still doing this ~years after YouTube launched?
