2024-03-12 18:28:26 +0000 UTCThat's right! It basically works like this: You choose the unit and all the targets like: "I choose this unit of Tactical Marines to shoot. All Bolters and the Flamer shoot your Cadian Shock Troops and the Lascannon shoots the Leman Russ." Then you shoot all of these Weapons in the order you like and only after that you can choose the next unit to shoot. Some things to keep in mind: Line of sight (and also range) is determined at this point. Everything that has Line of Sight when you declare the targets keeps it until this unit is done shooting. So if you shoot your Bolters first, you can still shoot with all other weapons that were previously eligible to shoot. So the Flamer could still shoot, even if your opponent removes the models the Flamer can see. Squad size for Blast is also determined at this point. My favourite example is the Mortar Team in a nPlatoon Command Squad of the Imperial Guard. Let's assume they shoot a unit of 20 termagants. The Mortar has D6 attacks with the Blast keyword so gets +4 attacks. These 4 extra attacks remain even if you shoot with the other models of the same unit first and decrease the number of termagants.

2024-03-02 16:45:57 +0000 UTCIf a unit has special weapons that require different rolls, you still have to shoot every weapon on that unit before you activate another one correct? Choosing targets gets more difficult when your weapons vary in strength so much.
