Lancer's bad luck is essentially him being in situations where pretty much everyone else would have fared WAY worse. 1v1 with Gil in the Fate Route you mentioned, in UBW well.. no Servant can resist a command seal with a simple and short term instruction, and here ambushed by the Shadow while fighting True Assassin.

2024-10-05 05:03:00 +0000 UTCI'm sure someone had mentioned this to you before, but Lancer in the Fate Route (so the Shirou x Saber one), he fought Gilgamesh for 15 straight hours. He lost but still he lasted longer than anyone other than Enkidu could. Also while him dying dies become a running gag in Fate, it's actually quite lore accurate as prophecy dictated that Cu Chulainn would obtain glory beyond measure as a Warrior but die at a young age. According to legend he was still in his 20's when he finally was killed. And that story alone is epic as hell.
