2024-10-05 13:26:53 +0000 UTCOkay, so the thing with Miyamoto Musashi in FGO is that we're aware that the female Musashi we know and love is not OUR Musashi. Female Miyamoto Musashi comes from an alternate universe where Shinmen Musashi no-Kami Fujiwara-no-Harunobu (yeah, that his/her real full name, we just just shorten it to Miyamoto Musashi) was born a woman. Her original timeline is a dead-end for human history, essentially a Lostbelt. The thing is that the universe prunes Lostbelts, timelines in which history deviates too much, from the Parallel World Theorem, essentially erasing them from existence. By reaching Nirvana through her swordsmaship, Musashi is given the unique ability to jump through parallel universes and she saves herself from being pruned. Our universe Musashi is a man, just as we've seen in Fate/Samurai Remnant (funnily enough, we never saw the real Musashi's face until Samurai Remnant came out cause FGO never gave him a proper spirte as his scenes are seen from his own perspective). In summary, female Musashi is from a Lostbelt, an alternate dead universe and she can travel through universes, our timeline Musashi is an old dude. Just keep in mind that they lived the same kind of lives, so female Musashi also adopted the Iori from her timeline.
