Update on Things - 18/10/25

Hey everyone. It's been a while. Even though it feels like I've been dying in flu the whole time that's only been the past two weeks it seems. Being sick sucks. Still before I got sick I managed to finish the last two chapters of the King of Knights and complete that story for good and tonight as I'm still coughing away I managed to finish Chapter 30 of Divide and Conquer so huzzah.

So what happens next? I promised y'all an update on the well, update schedule right? So it looks it's probably gonna be monthly instead of twice a month sorry. There are some months where I'm more free and I can maybe try and go for two a month but one is the safe bet.

Some other news as well, I just about finished the final outline for the story (last two chapters need some work) and I can confirm now that D&C will finish in Chapter 38. Yeah that's right. 38. Much shorter than either you or I were no doubt expecting yet as I outlined the final arcs and chapters, I realized it didn't feel right to extend the fic unnecessarily just to try and match the lengths of High Tide and Land of the King. So yeah, 38 it is.

With a finale in 38 and monthly updates, we're looking at the story finishing in about May or June. Possibly even sooner if I somehow manage twice a month updates every now and then (we'll see).

So yeah. Divide and Conquer's ending is definitely in sight now and with it my time writing in the ASOIAF fandom. I wanted to thank you all again for your many long months and some of you even years of support both on and off Patreon and I hope that you will stick with me as I move into my next fandom.

I've mentioned a number of times that it is Star Wars but let me finally give some official details on it. My Star Wars story is officially titled: The Force Shall Free Me (SW Anakin Skywalker SI)

If any of you are familiar with some deeper SW lore, you probably recognize that title as the final line of the Sith Code. And that's because, as the title implies, this is a Sith story. The premise is simple though a bit wordy. Basically things go wrong at the Battle of Naboo in TPM (probably because an SI adds in an element of chaos that destabilizes things), Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon both die while Maul is presumed dead and with the Jedi not knowing what to do with Anakin (whom they refuse to take in without Qui-Gon's dying wish), they are all too glad when the newly elected Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine wishes to take in as ward and adopted son the heroic young boy who blew up the Droid battlestation and saved his planet...

Yeah I think y'all can see where that's going lol. There's a lot of research I need to do to prep for the fic and I even have a whole list prepared and I'll try and work on it as the months go by so that as soon as D&C ends we can straight away start on the new story which I hope all of you will want to stick around for!
