Chapter 52: The Ghosts of Gogossos

Tenth Moon, 114 AC

Comments

It would kill him lol.

Tertius711

Dragons fire cleanses him

King Henry V

Stay tuned to see what happens!

Tertius711

Don’t know how I feel about Jace possibly dying. I think it could be a great development though so many possible story points

Alex p

Build up his character I mean.

Tertius711

No… they have a spare… even two! hahahaahahaha

Felipe Astur

Wouldn't it be such a waste tho after all the effort I've done to build him up? :)

Tertius711

My money is in that you're going to kill him!…

Felipe Astur

Dw it's not gonna be Tyrosh 2.0. I've learned my lesson. The Basilisk Isles arc will be wrapped up next chapter in a grand and epic finale with a lot of strong character moments and epic battles that I think you'll like. Stay tuned for that coming this weekend. Baela POV, gonna be great. As for the Targaryens, they have a lot of problems of their own but they aren't the main characters of the story so it doesn't really seem all that focused on. And frankly the Targaryens are setting themselves up for tragedy with their actions. And also realistically speaking there's no way the Targaryens really get very serious problems with their succession settled (at the moment that is hehe) since they're content to be on top and coast while the Velaryons are actively trying to grow their power. Climbing is always more dangerous than sitting at the top after all. But the rewards are great indeed.

Tertius711

He's actually got really good odds to be that one. He's a pureblood Valyrian dragonlord with a strong and healthy dragon. That gives him two magical boosts for resisting disease and he clearly is resistant to it. The guy succumbs to his fever (after stupidly tryna be macho and pretend nothing was wrong too) at the same time that everyone else starts screaming and dying. If that's not resistance then what is? Still even resistance may not be enough. Stay tuned for 52 this weekend where I will wrap up the Basilisk Isles arc in a grand finale!

Tertius711

That's actually not a concern. I was trying to figure out how to work it into the chapter but it looks like it would flow best in the next. But yeah Baela and Rhaena have been taking moontea, getting pregnant in the underdeveloped Basilisk Isles is a really terrible idea.

Tertius711

Stay tuned to see if he pulls through! Oh yeah the monsters were terrifying, a testament to the discipline and fanatic loyalty the Velaryon soldiers have that they aren't deserting in droves, especially given Jace's plan is to throw them into hell lol.

Tertius711

Seems that we got a repeat of Tyrosh, where everything that could go wrong, went that way. Seems that author really likes to torture Velaryons. While I understand that story isn't about them, at least ONCE it could be Targaryens who has problems. Sorry, but I don't know what to think about this update and wheter it's good or not............

Maciek

He inherited the vanity from his mommy lol Felipe Astur. As for Tom Tat, quite the good arguments but as noted in the chapter, even Jace thinks he's not thinking straight. Guy's clearly delirious and idk personally I did my best to give him plausible reasons for holding so strongly to this course of action, all of which he explained. And ofc these are on top of his still present ambitions.

Tertius711

I'm sure the Targaryens will be so happy with this outcome. They will definitely try to get their hands on this child and use him against the Velaryons. Daemon, Gael and Aegon will be especially happy and will probably have a feast.

Tariel Khalvashi

I hope he survives. You said that one in ten survives. Let's hope that he will be this one rare case.

Tariel Khalvashi

Because of Vanity ….

Felipe Astur

If he dies and she is pregnant they will have a lot of problems

Felipe Astur

What a brutal cliffhanger, I hope that Jace proves to be that 1 in 10. Looking at the pictures, the monsters are so terrifying, I'm amazed that the Velaryon army is not deserting in horror.

Kolek

Not particularly him. I hate stupid people in particular and his decisions after facing chimeras not the smartest but okay. Then he learns there is red death on the rise and he decides still to throw his man live away. For what exactly? Gold? His family has enough gold for 30 generation or something. Gems? He also don't need them. Magic knowledge? The same knowledge which created those monsters. I would let it stay there or destroyed. Valerian steel? It can survive dragon fire, so he can bath entire city in dragon flame, spare his soldiers life and avoid unnecessary risks. Instead let's risk my man, my wife and my brother for things I don't really need. He deserves to die for his stupidity.

Tom Tat

Man you really hate Jace. Any particular reason? Stay tuned to see how it goes, thanks for reading!

Tertius711

If he dies it would be fitting end for him. Died from his greed and stupidity.

Tom Tat
