Phanphan Phantasies - Ch2 (P35-36)

I added Theo to the characters height because next chapter will be mainly about them. You can tell both brothers are looking at Lug -w-

Maybe we'll get to know more about the dots at Chapter 3.

Thank you for the reply and information. Especially as I asked many things in a wall of text.

I would prefer to be not explanatory about the story, in the end it's better getting to know details of the story as the chapters pass. Even so I can clarify some things. In first place you must remember this is not a serious comic, I like to add context to improve the interactions but it always be a secondary thing for me to explain the world. In fact I have many stories about this world. This dog city is just a little part of a world full of species and different societies who share some religious belief. Maybe if I ever reach 5 or 6 chapter I will explain something about religion and so. About the dots, it will be partially explained in the next chapter. The consequences of it maybe in the future. About the women, they are like any other in a physical and emotionally matter, but they have another kind of education and another way to relate with others, specially males.

I actually had many questions regarding this stuff. I kept meaning to ask about it but this post is a good jumping off point. We had already seen artwork with the matriarchs so I knew women were going to be in charge of the marriage ceremony. I also figured long ago that the dots were most likely failure to go through with an engagement. I did want to know what the consequences of that are supposed to be. Mostly because we have seen people with up to three dots but they are still free to move about, act recreationally, and have jobs. So what if any negative effects does it have on them? I also wanted to know about the power dynamics in this world. In the first chapter I got the impression men and women did not care for each other but that there was no weird power dynamic. As the chapter takes place in a men only sports center It was clear men can run and operate businesses and partition it off so women cannot take part in their business. But in chapter two it starts off with a male only business but then the wife is watching. The wife also seems to get no physical nor emotional joy from it. Though, she finds it diverting. Carlo also seemed to imply that he needed his wife's permission to be allowed to run HIS business. Is that just because the wife provided the start up money? Or is it a societal thing with the wives in control? If so why does no one change it, as the Men are already running things separately the way they want? As for the sex in chapter 2 they mention after a few years no one cares anymore and you can go off and have sex with whomever. Now is that a just until offspring can be made? Or is it like ancient Sparta were you were allowed to have an affair as long as you informed the spouse first and they approved of allowing another lover? Secondly, in the art of chapter two and the mannerisms and wording of the wife in chapter two it seems like the women are emotionally dead. Again she seems not to care at all about her husband being attracted to men outside of an interest in men who are "all physically and violently passionate". Even Miss Clarisse at the end does not actually seem to care for Lug outside of an interest in watching how he reacts. Are we just getting poor examples of the women? or can we take what the wife said as actual truth? And that the men and women of this world have a much larger emotional sexual dimorphism then we do? Or is how everyone behaving just related to Mistress Lena? As the women seem to be referencing her. Does she just attract those kind of people?

Cant wait to find out :3

It's simpler, but you will know at chapter 3. I'll establish many things almost at the start

At least I got the markings right, so it's like being sober or something and if they keep it up at the end, they are free to move on with their gay life?

Max Freeman

The earring are some kind of countdown. Obviously love doesn't matter at all, the couple don't even know each other most of the times and everything is arranged by the elder matriarchs, whose are the ones that establish if the male keep suitable during the engagement time.

I love the tooth sticking out of Theo's mouth. It is such a cute detail

Thanks for pointing out the obvious questions for us, the marks are a sign of disapproval, and the rings are a sign of agreement; I think that's what you are clarifying. So Lug never had sex before; that's wild cause he’s quite the hunk. I may have misinterpreted the meaning of engagement rings; let me try this again, the five rings symbolizes that the wife has to approve the their husband's demands. The earning of the rings is about making it work or in the progress of working?

Max Freeman

I'll tell about it almost at the next chapter start. At least one of the dots would be obtained the way you think ;-)

Anhes

I cant wait to know more about Theo he looks cute, also if I should quess then if you get a ring for approval then you get a dot for disapproval maybe? On the other hand I cant imagine Lug being disaproved three times so Im most definitely wrong :)
