Ahhhh....
And just like that, summer begins to wane. I'm getting the last of my use of summer dresses and open-toed sandals now - really reaching, here where it's wear-a-jacket-until-noon weather, haha - and eyeing my unopened box of autumn clothes. Guess I should unpack that box next... sigh. I had a dream last night that I was having a lengthy discussion while pruning my tree out front of the house about how I wish I lived on a beach... because as much as I love Canada for its many wonderful options of places to live to experience different temperature profiles... none of them are beach weather 9 months of the year (the way I wish they were haha). Woke up and looked out the window at the sunshine pouring through and remembered... there's no snow on the ground YET so I need to make the most of this weather while I can! ;)
There's been so much around the house to get done that I haven't focussed much attention on booking North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, DC, etc. for October but really need to get on that. The list of 'to-do's doesn't just never end, it also never gets shorter as there are always endless things being added, hey? I never realized just what that meant until I took possession of the house, holy toledo. In August, I finally finished painting the living room and office space, got the bedroom ALMOST fully set up (wouldn't you know it that the bedroom set we have is ONE INCH too wide for the room, so the bed fits, but the bedside tables don't... by one inch, mostly due to baseboards. Naturally.), and just bought a bed for the first guest room for when my friend Ruby Roxx comes to visit next week, which was delivered an hour ago! Now to continue with the adult puzzles: bedframe needs to be set up, and the room needs to be cleared out. And then... I'll need to buy another bed for when Willa Prescott comes to visit too - my house is gonna be full of awesomeness next weekend!! For now, I'm just chasing one task back to another task that needs to be completed, which requires ANOTHER thing to be done first. To give ya an example: my computer can't be plugged in in the office until I cut holes in the built-ins, but I would prefer to measure exactly rather than guesstimate where the hole should go, and I can't do that until I build the frames to add height to the bottom of the cabinets so that once the extensions are placed on top, they will be high enough to reach the crown moulding. In order to do that, I need to buy some wood and set up the woodshop to make my cuts. In order to do THAT, I must find the TIME, which requires me to have finished editing photos for my clients, friends and family because I would prefer to get things I owe out to people as soon as I possibly can because they are as excited as I am about our outcomes.. which requires my computer to be plugged in - juuuuuuuuust not in my office, ha!
So in short... I have to sit in my über uncomfortable wood kitchen chair in my cramped living room to edit photos so that I can start to properly finish the office. Catch 22! Gah! I should point out that I'm not complaining in the least... I *live* for this stuff. It's just that procrastination is so easy when you have a million other things on your plate that you feel need to be done on a primary basis, and so completing tasks when conditions are not perfect or comfortable becomes a bit of a chore, no matter how much I love these "chores".
See what I mean? Never ending hahaha! BUT IT WILL GET DONE, and I love the process, even if it's making me pull my hair out a little. ;)
So now you have some insight into what I'm up to, why I haven't been super active on social media, and why Patreon has been my beloved full-time 'job' lately (aside from a Patreon Patron's $600 tier 'private' shoot yesterday - THANKS A.A.!). I've had next to no time to model for clients, which is my passion. I'm really wanting to get back at it, though... buuuuut I'm covered in dust and paint and desperately need a pedicure, hahaha. So... I'll continue to focus elsewhere for now. :)
This weekend, I am largely at home, so I am focussing on editing photos of SO many gorgeous models, a client, and my parents, whom I photographed for their 36th anniversary - awww). There's a lot coming down the pipeline.
On a more personal note, I have ALSO begun my sixth and final ovum donation process, and will be helping a couple conceive using my eggs! I am beside myself with excitement and have yet to fill out the forms or do the necessary health check-ups, but the wheels are in motion ever so slightly. You heard it here, first. ;)
Sooooo without further ado, my patient Patrons... you lovely, saucy bunch... here are your updated September password links!
