I came upon some photos on FB last week of what May 2017 looked like. I had just donated ovum to help a couple in Boston have a baby, and life was pretty awesome overall; 2017 had its challenges, but that's the case with most of our lives. I look outside now and am really trying to be more positive overall. Have you done that? Noticed things you never would have noticed about life outside your home had it not been for this pause?
For me, I live not far from some subsidized housing. A month ago, I would see this boy on his skateboard having a really tough time staying vertical on it. From my couch/computer, I have a clear view of the street he used to practice on and would always be able to count on seeing him going east on my street across my field of vision and then passing back west just seconds later, several times a day. I have watched him progress from bruises and scrapes to only slight wobbles. He's been doing this all on his own and has progressed like crazy, and I am super proud of him, haha, this stranger trying to learn a new skill.
It's inspiring, really. (He just passed by my window on a mini cruiser! I used to longboard and could never truly skateboard, so I'm even MORE impressed now!)
I can't say that I've had much motivation since one of my beloved family pets passed two weeks ago, but I'm definitely taking things on, now. Life's been tough for us all this past while, and I want to be a positive influence in your existence! :)
So tell me in the comments or via message... how are you doing? Have you shifted into a new role with work? Have you completely changed your way of life? Are you figuring out how to pivot? Are you learning a new skill or trying to forge a new routine? Are you just trying to stay positive, healthy and sane right now? It's all valid.
Stay safe, my friend.
