Thank you, Coby, for your fun reaction to "The Thing". The first time I watched "The Thing" I wasn't sure what to expect when MacReady was conducting the blood test with the Petri dishes. As each blood sample sizzled in the dish, I kept wondering, "what's supposed to happen?" Then when the hot wire touched the Thing's blood, YIKES! The jump scare was heightened by the shrieking sound effect as the blood jumped out of the dish. Kudos to Ennio Morricone's very suspenseful and creepy score. He is a well known composer for his earlier work in 'spaghetti' westerns, including my fave score of his, "Once Upon a Time in the West" (1968).
