HexCorp Patreon Redux

It's been almost a year and a half since the HexCorp Patreon was last active. In that time, HexCorp has grown substantially. We have a website (that's important) which offers dronification resources and we're continuing to add to it! We've started to build a thriving community, all with one very specific purpose in mind. We've begun creating side code projects to help with your dronification and we've been getting really into photography (one of the main rewards of this refresh) to showcase what your inevitable drone existence might look like.

It's because of this accumulation of projects (as well as suddenly changing life circumstances which means I now have a lot more free time to work on them) that I've decided to completely refresh the purpose of the HexCorp Patreon. There's so many things that we as HexCorp do, and I continuously get asked by people (A.K.A soon-to-be drones) how they can help support us creating them.

This Patreon will now focus on the outputs that HexCorp can produce on a monthly basis. The main rewards will center around writing and, more excitingly, photography. I've already been working on so many little things here and there in my free time, so I want to test if this can be converted into a more regular stream of work and now is the perfect opportunity to take up such a challenge.

The tiers have been completely readjusted to reflect this Patreon refresh. We plan to switch the Patreon back to monthly payments at the end of February so that we can start this new system when March begins (in the meantime it will read 'per creation'). Due to the tiers being changed you may find your supporter tier has been moved to a lower value (Patreon means you have to delete tiers in order to edit your system). For the first month the photoset will be as many pictures that I liked from previous photosets that I never had the opportunity to post (for instance, the above picture). As these don't appear on Twitter or our website, these will then become Patreon exclusive.

I want to clarify that just because the rewards are based around pictures and the Patreon feed, that's not the total sum of what you'll be contributing to. The plan is, if I can get enough support, to properly work on the array of HexCorp projects which are currently in progress. This includes having more time to get on with Drone Factory, as well as any other coding projects like the HexCorp Discord server AI project.

What's happening with Drone Factory?

The game is still in development! There's now a small team working on it and we've been having weekly development calls to navigate our through creating this game.

There've been quite a few hurdles and lessons learnt throughout this process, the dev team changing fully a couple times along the way too. We've resolved this latter issue by making the project much more open source so anyone can join. I now feel we have a really strong core team who have been helping me so much as we continue to code away on this game.

I should also point out that this refresh does not mean I've forgotten the rewards owed. I have a list of who has paid for what in terms of being in the credits, getting the game, early access, cameos etc. I also want to reassure that I'm not just continuing to work on the game because of these commitments, but because I genuinely want to create a fantastic dronification game for others to play.
