HexCorp December Bulletin

So, it's that time of year once again. The season where we put up our Hexmas decorations around the Hive and sing Hexmas carols throughout its metallic halls. Just 25 days to go now until you are all stored under the Hexmas tree to be unwrapped by me.
As always, I want to update you on what's been going on last month and what we have planned for the future!
I spent most of November catching up on tasks that really needed to be done. The application process has been updated, a set of three postcards is about to be sent out and I'm going to round off today by finishing the edits on a set I just took with drone 1697.
I did a complete overhaul of the HexCorp gallery page on the site to have more focus on the drone models that work with me too :: https://www.hexcorp.net/gallery
I've also been spending a lot of time on Twitch, building up a system in Minecraft that is designed to control drones and have them construct a Hive together in a uniform fashion.
One thing that the Minecraft endeavour has reaffirmed to me is the spot where the HexCorp dronification system is lacking the most: Tasks. It's all very good creating drones, but they do eventually have to be put to work on tasks that they can complete without thinking about. This is such a difficult thing to navigate, as any task system needs to account for all different sorts of drones and their abilities and circumstances. I've been working on the blueprints for a 'task repository' that would instead give multiple systems of tasks that different drones could pick and sink deep into, depending on what suits them best.
I imagine creating this is going to be a constant, ongoing mission, as more and more task system ideas come up. Right now though, I'm currently thinking of systems around different games or interactive applications that would give drones a sense of engagement with what they are doing and also statistics to showcase their progress.
For December, this next week and a bit is going to be me taking care of all the work that has to be done this month. This is because on the 9th I'm heading to Scotland for 12 days for what is effectively a work trip. I'm going to be seeing a lot of different drones and using this opportunity to create some unique content around drone storage methods. I'll be getting a set out in a couple of days but while I'm away I won't be able to edits the photos that are being taken, so it will probably be a wait until the 22nd for this new content to get edited and posted.
I'm also regrettably announcing the end to Permutative Industries. It was something I really wanted to continue with as an ongoing story, and a lot of the responses to it were incredibly interesting and unique and were taking it in directions I was really not expecting. I'm just too busy to be maintaining that now, and I am very sorry that I didn't officially end this sooner. Thank you to every drone who participated in it.
Thank you for reading, cutie drones and soon-to-be drones and perhaps those of you who are holding off as much as possible. Do be well! <3
