I didn't plan to make a version without a helmet, to be honest, I didn't even think about how it might look without it

It's going to muddle the lines and should probably be left as something to do with after effects (Tamiya Clear Red or whatever other color one might choose). As is, it's easily mistaken for a severe parasitic infestation.
