Drawing Princess Peach! 👑🫶🏻 real-time coloring process ✨

This week I’ve been busy filming our tutorial video and finishing up the editing for the bonus video, and I had some time to finish this real-time process video for you all too! ☺️💌 This one shows the coloring & painting process of my Princess Peach fan art 💕
Something new that I did with this drawing was coloring my sketch layer on alpha lock with various colors after putting down base tones and rendering a bit, which created a softer color transition in some lines while also keeping the black lines in other spots! So if some sketch lines were kind of harsh/dark in her blonde hair, I would color the line layer with red or dark yellow in that area to get rid of the black line look :)

If you click on the hair layer, it should bring up a menu bar next to it with a bunch of actions with things like alpha lock, reference, clipping mask, etc and there’s a button that says “Select”! Once you click select, it will select that layer and you can go back to any other layer (like multiply in this case) and start painting only on the selected layer! ☺️ It’s basically another way to do a clipping mask :) I hope that makes sense, feel free to ask any other questions and I’ll be happy to help! 🧡

2023-04-27 14:57:06 +0000 UTCI have a question! The selection tool how did you do that? I saw you put multiply above your sketch and base colors and you you went on the hair base layer and selected it to put multiply on how did you do that? I’ve tried it and idk I’m baffled lol
