[The Unusal Yautja] 1 - Honor Code

[Synopsis] What would happen if a man were to reborn in Yautja society in a Universe mixed with Marvel, DC, and Fate? Answer? Chaos.

[C - 1]

My name is Ti'kar (Ti-car), and I had the unfortunate situation of Reincarnating into the body of a Yautja Pup...

The Yautja, otherwise known as the Predators, were a race of Warriors and Hunters that had a strict honor code, and their favorite prey, were Xenomorphs, or 'Aliens.'

Xenomorphs are extraterrestrial hive-based endoparasitoids with a multi-staged life cycle who take the strengths of their hosts, such as the Thick Hide and Strength of a rhinoceros or the speed of a cheetah.

Xenomorphs are Primal and Preditarioal Creatures that range in a wide variety of forms and sizes, with the Xenomorphs following a cast structure of sorts, with a Queen at the top, Prateoreans that will succeed the Queen if she were to die, Warriors, Drones, and then the Chestbursters, newly born Xenomorphs from a host impregnated by a Face hugger.

Xenomorphs were incredibly deadly and cunning creatures, with sharp claws, a sharp tail they could impale you with, a secondary mouth inside their mouth that could break through bone, acidic blood that could melt through flesh, steel, and so much more, and not to mention whatever abilities or traits their house provided.

It was a rite of passage for an unblooded, Yaujta who becomes a 'young man' at the ripe age of 60 years old, to hunt down a Xenomorph and kill it, before marking yourself with the clan's symbol or a religious sigil with the Xenomorph's acidic blood.

The Yautja were not human, not by a long shot.

I was in for a rough time, and since I was only 10 years old, I had to either wait and train for fifty years or earn enough recognition to be allowed to take the rite of passage early.

Luckily, I was considered a child of the Yautja race, and no longer a 'Suckling,' a baby, and could begin learning, I have learned how to read and write the Yautja language, and have long since gotten used to the race's unusual and complicated speech which took the form of hisses, roars, clicks, and body movements.

As I was born on Yautja Prime, the homeworld of the Yautja race, most clans on the planet were Matriarchal, and I happened to be in a Matriarchal Clan by the name Shi'va.

Most males when they are of age, have joined a clan and go out to become 'Blooded,' completed their rite of passage, or seek to join a nomadic clan.

Most of the clans outside of the planet are Patriarchal, with those clans coming back once a year to mate with the females before leaving again.

Most clans ally with others, and mate with only each other, Their children based on their gender are sent to whichever clan is predominantly of their gender, such as a Male joining the Father Clan, while a female would remain with their Mother clan.

The Shi'va were the Mother Clan, while my Father Clan, whom I did not know the name of, were off-world, likely hunting in some distant world.

A single Yautja female could give birth to multiple children, however, due to the strict training and lives that Predators live, most die, keeping the Yautja population in check.

It wasn't uncommon for a Young Blood Yautja to be killed during training, or even killed by the Yautja training us.

Basically, there were countless ways to die, and only the fittest would survive, and even they would eventually be taken down as well.

I should also probably mention that the Yautja are one of the longest-living races there is, with Yautja Ancients living for thousands of years of age and still being able to fight, and even then it was unknown how long a Yautja could live due to the way of life we follow and all Yautja eventually dying of unnatural causes.

Not to mention, from what I remember, Yautja also healed quickly, with grievous injuries healing within days instead of weeks or months, and our neon glowing green blood having longevity properties, increasing the lifespan of whoever consumed it.

Yautja Prime, the planet we were on, had two noticeable biomes, a hot and arid desert, and a humid wet jungle.

My mother clan owned a gleaming black spire in the city of Yautja Prime that housed a few hundred Yautja, and dozens of Young bloods like myself.

They placed me and my siblings in a boxular room where we all received a simple metal bed that was spaced out a few feet from each other and given grub every day for lunch and dinner.

Today, we would finally start our studies and training.

...

"Wake up!" One of the caretakers roared, causing me and my brothers to jump out of our beds in a panic.

My eyes slowly opened and I rapidly blinked as my eyes adjusted to the light before climbing out of bed with a sigh.

It's been three days since I arrived in this world, and I was still having difficulty adapting to my new body.

Even what I could see was vastly different than what I was used to as a human.

It was as if I could only see in the Infrared now, with the only discernable colors that I could see being between gray, yellow, orange, and red.

Even then my vision was kind of blurry, with the figures in my vision lacking details. I could, however, make out appendages, the caretaker's dreadlocks, and the various equipment she wore on her body, I could tell she wasn't wearing a mask though, I could see her manidbles.

"Follow me, cause trouble and you will be punished!" She shouted, before turning around and walking out of the room.

It took barely a moment before my brothers around me charged forth, shoving each other and trying to race each other to the front and out of the room.

I won't lie, my brothers are quite...stupid, and very aggressive, starting a fight whenever they felt someone dishonored them.

Meanwhile, I calmly followed from behind, walking, but making sure to keep my distance.

I found myself walking down a hall, made of the material that made our room and beds.

It felt smooth and tough, a metal of some kind, but I was unsure what metal it was and would continue to be unable to tell unless I could go back to my human vision.

Doors aligned the walls, and I could only assume they housed my other brothers, seeing my brothers funnel through a door at the end of the hall, I picked up the pace and slowly walked into the circular room that had a hologram at the center and a bench forming a circle around it.

The Caretaker and apparently our teacher, tilted her head as she watched me slowly walk in, but didn't say anything, instead waiting for me to take a seat.

So, I looked for a relatively empty spot and sat down.

"Good," She nodded, looking around the room before focusing on the hologram and tapping something, "Today, we will be learning about the Code of Honor and the Gods."

"Why do we need to know the code? We have already been taught it!" A boy shouted.

Her head swiveled to the boy who spoke, and she slowly began walking towards him.

Dread filled the room as she got closer and closer, and once she was within reach, she raised her arm, and ruthlessly swung, punching the Youngblood in the face and sending him flying.

"Get up," She challenged the bleeding Yautja boy.

The boy touched his bleeding head and growled, he got up and rushed towards our teacher, claws ready to cut her, only for her to spartan kick the boy, knocking all of the air out of him and sending him back to the ground.

She calmly walked forward and stomped her foot onto his chest, keeping him down.

"You do not speak unless spoken to, while I teach you will listen, If you do not meet my expectations, I will punish you and teach you a lesson you will never forget, DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHELPS?" She shouted.

"Yes!" We replied.

"Good! Now, you will all attend my lessons for one week! If you do not wish to learn, then you may stay in your room or train after this week is over! Once this lesson is complete, you will meet with your Weapons Master," she informed us as she let the boy go and walked back over to the hologram.

"Now, I will begin, no interruptions!" She shouted and words in the strange Yautja language showed on the screen.

"The First Code of Honor is that of Code Violations! Those who break the Code will be named Bad Blood! If you break one of our codes, you will become our Prey and will be hunted down till you are dead any and all Bad Bloods are to be destroyed on sight, do you understand me?!" She shouted.

'I didn't realize she would be this aggressive of a teacher...I know this is because it's an important topic, but is she always this angry or loud? Are the Female Yautja just as aggressive as the males?' I thought to myself as I mentally noted the first 'rule' I had to follow.

"The Second Code of Honor is that of Hunting of Intelligent Species! Now, almost all prey are intelligent, but the ones we are speaking of are those that are 'Sapiant,' to be specific, creatures who developed with logic and wisdom, creating tools, structures, weapons, and more. There are specific rules regarding hunting Intelligent Species, but we will be going over that tomorrow!"

"The Third Code of Honor is that of Hunting Worthy Game! Not all game is worthy to hunt, When hunting, the hunter must be sure that his prey is considered game and lawful to kill. The worthy game must fill the following criteria: Can defend itself and/or is able to kill the hunter himself, of age, not linked to other lives, and not weakened by diseases!"

'So, no killing children or the elderly, no killing pregnant women or similar, and no killing those that are sick, seems simple enough,' I thought.

"The Fourth Code of Honor is that of Equalizing the Odds! As Hunters our prey should always have a fighting chance! The Less equipment you use to hunt your prey results in greater honor for both you and your clan! If the prey demands close combat, the hunter is to fight to their prey's standards and should minimize the use of their Plasmacaster or other projectile weapons you have equipped!"

'So, I will have to Honor Duels if the Prey requests it in same way, and give my prey a fighting chance.'

"The FIth Code of Honor is that of Failing the Hunt! If you fail, you are to use the self-destruction program on your wrist gauntlet or end your own life to retain his honor than to live in shame! If you are too coward to do it our Hunters will assist you in your suicide!"

'So...I'd die either way if I failed a hunt...that's concerning. I'd either have to kill myself, or other Predators would hunt me down to kill me themselves to 'assist' with my suicide...'

"The sixth Code of Honor is that of Claiming the Kill of Another Hunter. To take the Trophy of another Yautja, living or dead, is considered to be a great insult! For example, two Un-Blooded go on their first Hunt: one Yautja takes on a Xenomorph, and both are mortally wounded. While the wounded hunter is dying, the other hunter conveniently finishes off the prey and claims the kill as his own, abandoning the wounded Yautja. This is a crime that can be paid for with abandonment, or death!"

'Self-explintory.'

"The Seventh Code of Honor is that of the Murder of Another Yautja: To kill another Yautja intentionally holds severe consequences. This excludes self-defense and killing an opponent in a fight to settle a dispute. Murder is the worst crime! We do not hunt our fellow hunters! We hunt our prey and those who have forsaken the duties we have as hunters!"

'Understandable, with the death rate of Yautja, Murder would be seen as one of the worst crimes.'

"The Eighth Code of Honor is that of Showing Mercy! Those that defeated you in a fair hunt, or who are the victors in a deadlier hunt, should be considered an equal and must be shown respect!"

'Mercy? Who would have expected that the Yautja would have any mercy,' I commented in my mind.

"The Ninth Code of Honor is to Never harm the innocent! Those who have done no harm should have no harm done to them! (It can be inferred that this rule must pertain only to harming other Yautja in their society since they hunt and kill members of many species one could call "innocent". It can also be inferred that Bad Blood Predators would ignore this rule either in part or in whole.)"

'I guess it is assertaining to the Bad Bloods, and not the countless races the Yautja regularly hunt.'

"The Tenth Code of Honor is that of Hunting for Food! When hunting for food, take only the weak. This is to purify the species' line and make it strong!"

'So that we have better and stronger things to hunt?' I wondered.

"The Eleventh Code of Honor is that of Wounded Game! When coming upon game wounded by another hunter, and the prey is dying without sport, show honor to another's kill! If the game still shows sport, it is to be a joint trophy!"

'So if this wounded creature is still capable of fighting back, then both parties that injured and killed the prey would get part of the trophy?'

"The Twelfth Code of Honor is that of Joining Another Hunt! Do not join another's Hunt, or Hunt in their territory, without their permission! All trophies taken in this manner are stolen trophies and shall be dealt with by the rightful owner!"

'So don't hunt in someone else's land or you'd have to deal with the owner who could deal with you however they see fit?' I assumed.

"The Thirteenth Code of Honor is that of Revealing Yourself! When in a duel with an enemy, you must reveal yourself! It is only right to reveal yourself to your enemy at the climax of a fight before you end its life!"

'Okay, that one's simple.'

"And the Fourteenth and last Code of Honor is that of Weapons of Warfare! We do not use our ship's weapons for hunts! We do not use any weapons that are considered too destructive to constitute a hunting weapon!"

'So don't use anything too advanced against our prey, the more primitive the more honorable and notable the hunt will be, makes sense. I do recall all of the Predators in the movies only ever using spears, wristblades, disks, shurikens, and other primitive weaponry, with the notable exception being the Plasma Caster,' I thought.

"That is the Code we must follow, any questions?"
