Real-Time Rendering Process: Amren + Mor ✏️🥀🖤 (rendering tips in caption 💌)

Hellooo everyone! :)

Here is part 2 of my drawing process of Amren and Mor from ACOTAR! 🌹 Part 1 showed how I sketched the poses and put down the line art + base colors, and this video is the next step: rendering! ✨

It’s totally possible to feel confident with your line art skills and then feel stumped when you reach the rendering phase (I remember feeling that way all the time 🙋🏻‍♀️) but there are techniques to make your process easier and more intuitive!

Here’s a rendering tip: Something you’ll see me do (at the very start of this video!) is select an airbrush and brush some colors on top of my base tones. This is to create some variation of color in a seamless gradient so it feels like it blends in with the other colors somewhat. I’ll spend a lot of time using my airbrush like this!

THEN the fun part: I use my color picker to select colors on the canvas to start adding textures and details on top of those soft, airbrushy gradients. Essentially, I create that soft base and texturize it with brushstrokes on top.

This technique simplifies the rendering process a lot! I hope it’s helpful for you to watch 🥰🫶🏻
